Do we live in a cruel world? I don't know. We live in an evil world. A world ruled by Satan, although Satan has already been defeated. A world filled with wicked people. Is that true? Doesn't it depend on what standard you use to determine who is wicked and who is not? What is the appropriate standard?

God's standard. It's the only one that makes any difference. It is the standard that determines whether we are heading to heaven or hell... and God has already given us the answer to that one. We're all evil (compared with God). We've all broken God's laws. That means we are all heading for the just punishment we deserve, hell.

Yes, it is a cruel world Except for God's love. God loves the world so much that He gave is Son, Jesus Christ, to die in your place. Jesus took your punishment for all the times you disobeyed God. Jesus paid the penalty you owed... and that means you can go to heaven... if you accept this free gift from God.
