Another great Dave Clark Five song that is good for dancing.

"Catch Us If You Can" Did you know that is what sin in your life is saying? We love our sin. BTW, sin is anything done or thought that is in disobedience to God. It is sin, our disobeying God, that keeps us separated from God. It keeps us from hearing Jesus knocking at the door.

But there is something interesting about sin. It never really satisfies. We always need a little more. We always are left with a feeling that if we just went a little further, had a little more, then we would find happiness.

Take money for example. There is nothing sinful or wrong about money. But is sinful is the love of money. Doesn't it seem that if you had just a little more money, you'd be okay? You could pay off the bills, have a nice meal out sometimes... just a little more money would do it. But when you do get a little more money, nothing changes.

The Bible tells us to be satisfied with what we have. Don't go chasing after pleasures...money, cars, sex or whatever. Put your focus on what is important... what happens after you die. You are only here on earth a short time. But what you do here determines what happens to you for eternity.

Bits And Pieces - The Dave Clark Five

B/W - All Of The Time
Epic 5-9671

Hit song in 1964. That can be tough, but it's not the end of the world. Looking at the signs we see around us now, we now may be truly looking at the end of the world coming soon. The Bible talks about things happening near the end time such as the Jews returning to Israel (the have); people denying that God created the world and that there was a world wide flood (they are); about natural disasters (they are increasing); and people denying Christ (they are). I'm not a prophet, but it's looking like the time is getting close for Jesus to return. Yes, many people have cried "The end is near!" and have been proven wrong. But never before have the clear signs described in the Bible been so obvious. I'm not saying I know the end is near for sure, but I do say that if you have not repented (turned away from disobeying God) and trusted that Jesus has paid the penalty for your sins... maybe now is the time to start reading your Bible and ask Jesus to save you.

Do you consider yourself to be a good person? Good enough at least so that God will let you into heaven? That won't get into heaven. God has told us that no one is good enough.

Are you counting on God to just forgive you? You are forgetting about God's justice. God is just. Those who have broken God's laws will pay the penalty. The violation has been against the infinite God, creator of the universe, so the punishment is infinite... hell. But, God loves you very much. The penalty must be paid, but He loves you so much that he paid the penalty Himself. Jesus Christ died on the cross, taking on himself the full and terrible wrath of God against your sin. Paying your the penalty you owe. If you accept this gift, God gives it to you freeing you from the obligation to pay your penalty and allowing you to enter heaven free from sin and corruption.

Trust in Jesus today.

Goodbye Cruel World - James Darren

B/W - Her Royal Majesty (Goffin - King)
Eric 183 (Re-issue label)

Do we live in a cruel world? I don't know. We live in an evil world. A world ruled by Satan, although Satan has already been defeated. A world filled with wicked people. Is that true? Doesn't it depend on what standard you use to determine who is wicked and who is not? What is the appropriate standard?

God's standard. It's the only one that makes any difference. It is the standard that determines whether we are heading to heaven or hell... and God has already given us the answer to that one. We're all evil (compared with God). We've all broken God's laws. That means we are all heading for the just punishment we deserve, hell.

Yes, it is a cruel world Except for God's love. God loves the world so much that He gave is Son, Jesus Christ, to die in your place. Jesus took your punishment for all the times you disobeyed God. To put someone in solitary confinement is the worst we can do to someone. We all need someone in our lives. Some who considers us important. We were created to be in relationships. We belong in a relationship. A very few of us may not desire to get married, but we all want relationships.

If God made us to be in a relationship, with whom should we be in a relationship? It's a classic latin rock song that tells us "you've got to stop your evil ways."

Have you ever tried to stop your evil ways?

My first question is what standard are we using to determine what is evil? And what is it that we need to stop doing? Who determines what is evil and what is good? Does evil change over time or from culture to culture?

It is God who defines evil. It is the same for every culture. It is the same for all time. So the question is how do you measure up against God's standard? The answer is that no one is good but God. It seems to me that is a problem.

There's A Moon Out Tonight - The Capris

B/W - Indian Girl

Lost-Nite Records LN-101

There's A Moon Out Tonight was originally released in 1961.

Remember Then - The Earls

B/W Let The Little Girl Dance, Billy Bland (1960)

Atlantic OS 13114

Two great hits.
